Here we go - Red Bulls set for action again

Red Bull Salzburg start the new season with 14 players taking part in Co Adriaanse’s first training session.

Wednesday 28 May 2008 – 11 am Taxham.

Red Bulls are close to two years younger this year – average age now 27 years old.

It’s all kicking off again next Monday, 26 May 2008, as runners-up Red Bull Salzburg’s players are put through fitness tests at the Thalgau Performance Diagnostics and Training Centre ahead of 2008/2009. New Bulls coach Co Adriaanse will then summon his squad to his first Taxham team talk 12 days before the start of UEFA EURO 2008. The first training session of the new campaign will be held on Wednesday 28 May at 11 am.

Red Bull Salzburg’s squad currently consists of 26 players. There are six Austrians, three Serbs, and two Red Bulls from each of Germany, Cameroon, Croatia, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Tunisia. There is one player apiece from Holland, Japan, Slovakia, Uganda and Hungary.

The squad has been made almost two years younger this summer to an average age of 27.1.

Due to the deluge of international matches in the coming weeks as UEFA EURO 2008 approaches, Adriaanse’s management team will not have the whole squad at their disposal.

14 of the 26 Red Bulls will go straight into pre-season training. The following Bulls are absent with the small matter of EURO 2008 on their hands: Rene Aufhauser, Marc Janko, Ronald Gercaliu, Christoph Leitgeb, Niko Kovac, Manuel Pamic and Johan Vonlanthen.

Ibrahim Sekagya will be in action for Uganda while two new signings are yet to reach Salzburg: Somen Tchoyi is completing the final two matches of the Norwegian league while Mejdi Traoui is in action for Tunisia.

Also away with their national teams are Laszlo Bodnar (Hungary) and Sasa Ilic (Serbia).

Ernst Öbster, Robin Nelisse, Anis Boussaidi will be the three new recruits in Salzburg from next week.
