Red Bulls seek another three points in new-look Altach.

Preview 2: Round 26, tipp3-Bundesliga powered by T-Mobile.
SCR Cashpoint Altach v Red Bull Salzburg,
15 March 2009 – 3:30 pm, Cashpoint Arena.

Sunday.
The Red Bulls face their 13th Sunday match of the season this weekend. Sunday has been a good day of the week for them this season with just two defeats, two draws and eight wins.

The last time that Salzburg journeyed to Altach was also on the Sabbath, when they took a dramatic and memorable 4-3 win.

Red Bull Salzburg need to take points, points, and more points (especially away from home) as they hunt the league title. SCR Altach are old acquaintances with a brand new face after having made some sweeping changes during the winter break.

Seven new players have accompanied new coach Georg Zellhofer with seven players leaving the club. The changes have worked so far with the Voralberg team taking four points from their first two matches of 2009. New signing Petr Vorisek has had a dramatic effect on the team, playing a hand in all three of their goals this year.

The Czech has scored two goals himself and provided an assist for the other strike. Altach now have a statistically highly-dangerous midfield that has scored 15 times in total this season.

In comparison Red Bull Salzburg’s midfield men have scored just eight goals between them, but their strikers have of course been able to assume most of the attacking responsibility themselves to great success.

Beware of fouls close to the edge of the area.

Vorisek’s free-kicks are especially tricky to handle. An impressive five of his past six Bundesliga goals have come direct from free-kicks while Red Bull Salzburg have not scored direct from a set piece since Patrik Jezek’s strike in the 14th match of the season against Kapfenberg (7-3).

Salzburg will, however, be confident that their status as the league’s greatest attacking force will see them to victory against the league’s leakiest defence.
Altach have lost 17 matches this season, the same figure of games that the Red Bulls have won.

Admittedly Altach have been a much-improved defensive unit since the winter break, and they are yet to concede a league goal in 2009.

Red Bull Salzburg have scored at least once on each of their past visits to Altach.

Red Bull Salzburg’s away record in Altach:

19/10/2008, SCR Cashpoint Altach 3-4 Red Bull Salzburg
26/04/2008, SCR Cashpoint Altach 1-1 Red Bull Salzburg
23/09/2007, SCR Cashpoint Altach 1-1 Red Bull Salzburg
21/04/2007, SCR Cashpoint Altach 0-2 Red Bull Salzburg
22/07/2006, SCR Cashpoint Altach 0-2 Red Bull Salzburg
