After the first two friendlies brought wins against Neumarkt and Vöcklabruck, the Wolves are coming to visit the Bulls on Saturday.
Wolfsburg coach Klaus Augenthaler will accompany his team to the home of the Bundesliga leaders.
‘Auge’ will meet a multitude of old acquaintances from his time at Bayern Munich at the Bulls Arena.
Augenthaler played 404 times in total for Bayern between 1976 and 1991 and helped the club to win seven German championships during his time.
Wolfsburg, currently twelfth in the German Bundesliga, have just been on a 10-day training camp in Portugal. They face a trip to Berlin to play Hertha the following weekend, when the season gets underway again in Germany.
Wolfsburg’s new star should get a taste of the action for his club at the Bulls Arena. Marcelinho made the switch from Hertha Berlin to Trabzonspor last summer and is now making a return to the German league with the Wolves.
Matthaeus: “Our team still needs to find itself again after the long winter break, and we will have to start to raise our game this Saturday against Wolfsburg. We are already looking forward to this clash with the Wolves, who are definitely ahead of us in terms of their preparation. “It will be the first serious test for us.”
